Extension of state of siege in DRC due to conflict: Nixon Katembo

Lawmakers in the Democratic Republic of Congo have extended a state of siege in two eastern provinces plagued by conflict. They’re trying to end the killing of civilians by militia groups. The 15-day extension gives the army and police full powers to crack down on rebels and their collaborators in the region. SABC’s Chris Ocamringa reports from Kinshasa.
