
President Cyril Ramaphosa is hoping that the meeting led by United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres will lead to a peace agreement in Ukraine. Guterres met with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow in an effort to mediate in the conflict. He’s also scheduled to meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
Meanwhile, President Ramaphosa hosted his counterpart from Guinea-Bissau, President Umaro Embaló. Embalo says they are keen to work with South Africa to address the security challenges in the West African nation.
