President Cyril Ramaphosa is today expected to host General Umaro Sissoco Embaló, President of the Republic of Guinea-Bissau, on a state visit to Pretoria. The visit will provide an opportunity for South Africa and Guinea-Bissau to strengthen bilateral, political, and socio-economic relations. The visit will also be a platform to give new energy to a number of bilateral agreements that require closer implementation. The General Cooperation Agreement between the two countries was signed in September 2008.
