KZN Floods | Schools' infrastructure damaged by floods: Equal Education's Tebogo Tsesane

Education Minister Angie Motshekga says the Department of Basic Education is in the process of bringing engineers and other specialists to flood and storm damaged schools in KwaZulu-Natal. Motshekga visited the Brettonwood High school in Umbilo, south of Durban, which was flooded. Over 600 schools have been damaged by the floods and torrential rains.
The minister says they will prioritise the re-opening of schools so that teaching and learning can resume. Damage to schools in the province is currently estimated at R442-million. To take this discussion forward we are joined via Zoom by Tebogo Tsesane from Equal Education in KwaZulu-Natal to give us a sense of how these floods have affected learners and the infrastructure.
