NUM and AMCU set to intensify strike action at Sibanye stillwater

The National Union of Mineworkers (NUM) and the Association of Mineworkers and Construction Union (AMCU) say they are set to intensify their now 6-week strike action at Sibanye-Stillwater’s gold operations. This has involved some 30 000 workers downing tools. They’re demanding a R1 000 per month wage increase for category 4 to 8 workers. While Sibanye has been on record offering R700. But among the union flock, there appears to be some restlessness about these decisions.
