
The National Union of Mineworkers (NUM) and the Association of Mineworkers and Construction Union (AMCU) say they are set to intensify their now 6-week strike action at Sibanye-Stillwater’s gold operations. This has involved some 30 000 workers downing tools. They’re demanding a R1 000 per month wage increase for category 4 to 8 workers. While Sibanye has been on record offering R700. But among the union flock, there appears to be some restlessness about these decisions.
