
Former Burkina Faso President Blaise Compaore has been sentenced to life imprisonment for his complicity role in the murder of his predecessor Thomas Sankara. That’s a ruling by that country’s military tribunal. Sankara was gunned down with 12 others during the 1987 coup that brought Compaoré to power. The pair had been close friends and had jointly seized power in 1983. Channel Africa producer and African Affairs analyst Izak Khomo is with us in the studio to share his views on this prosecution and verdict.
