Global vaccine inequality created by pharmaceutical companies and wealthy nations undercut Africa’s ability to fight the COVID-19 pandemic. This is according to international rights group Amnesty International in its annual State of Human Rights report. The report also pointed out that the COVID-19 pandemic highlighted Africa’s lack of investment in health sectors over many decades.
