
Abahlali baseMjondolo, a grassroots organisation that fights for the poor and marginalised, emerged in the post-apartheid era more than 17 years ago and now has a paid-up membership of over 100,000 in five provinces. However, as South celebrates Human Rights Day, the movement says the day only exist on paper for the poor.
