
The South African Health Products Regulatory Authority has allayed fears around the safety of COVID-19 vaccines. This after a 38-page, safety report on Pfizer-BioNTech’s vaccine triggered claims on social media about the safety of their COVID-19 shot. The South African Health Products Regulatory Authority says it is investigating the data released on the report by the US Food and Drug Administration. The report by the FDA indicates that the COVID-19 Pfizer vaccine has over one-thousand-two-hundred side effects, that were not disclosed to the public, until last week. Sahpra on Tuesday gave an overview of its mechanisms in place to continue monitoring health products, particularly coronavirus vaccines, once it’s been approved and rolled out for commercial use.
