The COVID-19 pandemic has, in many ways, had an impact on how we live. It has also influenced how we eat. Since the pandemic, more and more people have started living healthier and eating better, creating a demand for healthy food items, among them avocados. Among the top 20 global producers of avocados, South Africa produces over 120,000 tons of the fruit annually. What was once a seasonal crop with a high price tag, it has now become more readily available all year round.
