Economic activity expected to bounce back following the July unrest

Economic activity was expected to have bounced back in the fourth quarter last year, following disruptions caused by the July unrest in the third quarter. Statistics South Africa is expected to release the fourth quarter GDP data, anticipated to show a rebound of two percent – up from a contraction of 1.5% in the third quarter. It’s been predicted that the economy recorded a 4.8% growth in 2021.
