South African consumers could find themselves paying more for just about everything in 2022. Households will have to dig deep into their pockets to deal with the escalating costs of services, food and other items.
Economists say the recent fuel price hike will push up food inflation – leaving many poor households unable to afford some of the basics.
Price pressures are also expected to come from higher electricity prices. – This after Energy Regulator, Nersa, approved a tariff increase of 9 point 6 percent for Eskom from April this year.
