Provincial conference of the ANC in the Eastern Cape draws closer

The provincial conference of the African National Congress (ANC) in the Eastern Cape is drawing nearer, and pressure is building.

The party is also under pressure to heal divisions and put an end to the infighting. But violence marred the branch meetings in East London and Nelson Mandela Bay this past week. An ANC councillor in the Nelson Mandela Bay metro, Mzwandile Booi was shot dead.

A day before that there was an attempt on the life of another branch leader in Kwanobuhle. A BGM in East London also turned violent with gunshots fired during the proceedings.

Last month the house of ANC a PR councillor in the Amathole district municipality was also attacked by unknown people.
