
The high court in India’s southern Karnataka state has ordered that students should not be forced to wear religious garments until a final judgment is handed down. This comes after several schools last week denied entry to Muslim girls wearing the hijab, prompting protests and raising fears among the state’s Muslim students, who say they are being deprived of their religious rights.
