The former mayor of Nelson Mandela Bay, Athol Trollip, has joined ActionSA. He was previously the federal chair of the DA. Trollip stepped down in October 2019 shortly after the resignation of then DA leader, Musi Maimane.
Herman Mashaba who us now the leader of Action SA had announced his resignation as DA mayor of Johannesburg just two days earlier.
