The Department of Basic Education says it has to continue with rotational learning because it failed to get the green light from the relevant departments to allow more learners into the classroom. It says unless the department of Co-Operative governance and traditional affairs changes the current regulations, its hands are tied. The continuation of rotational learning has come under the spotlight as millions of learners enter into the third year of staggered school attendance. Schools in inland provinces will open on Wednesday the 12th of January, while coastal provinces open a week later on the 19th.
