Eastern Cape hailstorm victims call on government to fast-track distribution of temporary structures

Residents in areas that were hit by a hailstorm in December 2021 at the O.R Tambo District in the Eastern Cape have called on government to fast-track the distribution of temporary structures. Six people have been killed, nineteen are hospitalised and hundreds are left homeless. Residents say they spent the festive season without clean water and electricity.
They say the government should prioritise shelter as bad weather continues to wreak havoc in the Eastern Cape.
