Tanzanian President Samia Suluhu Hassan has sent a message of condolence to President Cyril Ramaphosa and the people of South Africa following the death of retired Archbishop Desmond Tutu, calling him a true son and icon of Africa. A visit to the country in 1984 by the late Archbishop sheds light on his unique relationship with Tanzania – one of a number of African countries that supported South Africa’s liberation struggles.
