The East African Community Heads of state have endorsed the admission of the Democratic Republic of Congo to the bloc, making it the EAC’s seventh partner state. At an extraordinary head of state summit held virtually on Wednesday, the six heads of state called on the council of minister’s to begin negotiations with the DRC in order to pave the way for its admission to the EAC.
