Minister of Small Business Development Stella Ndabeni-Abrahams is testifying at the South African Human Rights Commission National Investigative Hearing Into the July 2021 unrest this morning.
Police Minister Bheki Cele will then testify this afternoon.
Yesterday, the Commission heard from the Cornubia Fire Civil Society Action Group on how the chemical company, UPL, failed to follow provincial and national environmental regulations when it built its warehouse in Cornubia near Umhlanga.
Environmental expert, Rajen Naidoo, testified at the hearings on behalf of the group.
