Reaction to newly formed sovereign council in Sudan: Dr Abdul-Karim Elgoni

Sudanese army chief General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan has chaired the first meeting of the newly formed sovereign council. This came just a day after thousands took to the streets rejecting the military’s takeover of power. The new ruling council replaces the power-sharing body he dissolved last month and excluded members of the civilian coalition that had been sharing power with the military. To discuss the current situation in Sudan, we are now joined by the chairperson of the African Diaspora Forum Dr Abdul-Karim Elgoni.
