Pongola residents protest over candidates

Residents of Pongola in KwaZulu-Natal say they won’t rest until the right candidates are appointed in wards 9 and 11. The community says the IFP which they voted into power, submitted the wrong list to the IEC before the elections and now they are stuck with the wrong councillors. On Wednesday the community used rocks and burning tyres to block the N2 highway, calling on the party to fix the issue. They’re threatening even more protests unless the issue is fixed. eNCA’s Lethiwe Mdluli reports. Courtesy #DStv403
