G20 High-Level Panel recommends a new multilateral funding mechanism to avert pandemics

A G20 High-Level Panel has recommended a new multilateral funding mechanism capitalized at 10 billion dollars annually to underpin better governance towards global pandemic responses. The ‘High-Level Independent Panel on Financing the Global Commons for Pandemic Preparedness and Response’ also warned that global health security was dangerously underfunded resulting in a prolonged COVID-19 pandemic with waves continuing to affect all countries while leaving the world vulnerable to future pandemics.
