France says that the leader of ISIL-affiliated Islamic State in Greater Sahara Adnan Abu Walid al-Sahrawi has been killed. The group is known for its deadly attacks in the so-called tri-border region of Mali, Niger, and Burkina Faso. Al-Sahrawi was reportedly killed by French forces on Thursday.
