Eastern Cape Health Department calls on men in the province get COVID-19 vaccinations

The Eastern Cape Health Department has called on men in the province to go and vaccinate.

This as figures show that fewer males have gone for COVId-19 vaccins so far.

Statistics show that men account for 37% of the vaccinated population while females account for 63%. The Eastern Cape has just over one million vaccinated people.

Out of this number, over 660 000 are females,

While only 391 000 males have been vaccinated so far.

Beliefs in conspiracy theories are believed to be contributing to the hesitancy amongst men.
Traditional leaders in rural areas have resolved to use funeral services and other events to encourage men to vaccinate.
