KZN Floods I On the ground from Virginia Airport just outside Durban

As horrific as the scenes over the last week have been, this is an all too familiar reminder of the magnitude of disaster during several points in the province’s history. 14th April 1856 – the Umgeni River burst its banks after heavy flooding. Fast forward to Cyclone Demoina in the province and surrounds in 1984.
