The Minister of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs, Dr. Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma has proclaimed and gazetted the 27th of October as the date for the Local Government elections.
This is until the IEC requests the Constitutional Court for a postponement of elections.
