The North West provincial government has come under fire for failing to spend R1 billion allocated conditional grant. The money was intended for large-scale projects towards infrastructure development and expansion. In response to the DA’s written questions, North West finance MEC Motlalepula Rosho indicated that the provincial government departments failed to spend this grant during the 2021/22 financial year. Residents say it is appalling that money has been returned to the National Treasury regardless of poor roads and maintenance, amongst others.
